My reaction to the Hakarena. SERIOUSLY ENGLAND?

My Reaction To The #Hakarena.

The Video:

First of all, why does this video exist? But before I get to that part, I am going to say the GOOD side of this video.

The Good Side:
The video is hilarious! I like how they incorporated the Macarena into it along with the haka. That's all I really have to say with the good side.

The Bad Side:
Why does this video exist? I don't like it because it offends us as a country and in our culture. They copied our idea of our Haka and they used it in the WRONG way.

I give this video a rating of a 3.5/10. #Lame #Seriously?

If I was to sum up this video with one word, it would be, Stupid

My Picture Description.

This picture shows the Majestic Hoiho in its mountain habitat. If you're wondering why the sky is purple, the picture is set just as the sky turns a pitch black color. The sun has set and the rare pink clouds of the night have come out. Below the mountains is a lake where a small beach with shells and pebbles are surrounding it. Then we have the Hoiho with its nice pure black color with its bright yellow eye.

Opti Sailing - How to tie a figure 8 knot.

Figure 8 Knot Instructions.
In 4 easy and simple steps!

What a figure 8 knot is used for.

A Figure 8 Knot is used in a Optimist yacht when sailing. This is one of the knots needed to get the sail up and running.

Step 1 & 2.
Step one is to find a piece of string and put it into a U shape. Make sure the rope is thick otherwise it will not work. Then get it into a circle at the bottom like a peach.

Step 3 & 4

Then, take the right side of the string and take it under the left piece of string until it looks like a 8. Take the same side of string and put it under the left string again. When it's in the middle of the bottom part, Pull tightly.

My report on The Rapper Savage.

Savage Report.

Today, we will be talking about the rapper called Savage (called Demetrius Savelio In real life). Savage is a rapper from New Zealand and we will be talking about him today. So get ready to learn lots about a famous rapper from the country that has the best animal ever! (the kiwi of course!)

  1. Savage’s History

Savage was born in 1981 in South Auckland making him a New Zealander. Savage has been a rapper and a Hip Hop artist for over 10 years (14 to be exact) and has made many songs. Some of them are really weird and some of them attracting many others. Savage has been performing at many concerts such as Nickelodeon's Slime Fest for 2014.
     2.    The things Savage achieved (awards, first times)

Savage has achieved many things during his rapping and Hip-Hop carrier. He was nominated for 4 awards and won 3 for the Pacific Music Awards. (Best Pacific Song, International Breakthrough, Best Pacific Urban Artist and Best Pacific Music Album). He was also the first Hip Hop artist to have a commercial single in New Zealand. He was also awarded with Platinum certification in the US for selling over 1 million copies of Swing.

     3.     Savages songs and albums.

Savage today has over 30 songs made. The first song he made was Swing in 2005. His latest song is Like Michael Jackson released this year. Did you know, that Swing has 4 different versions of Swing. There is the original version, a US version, a remixed version and a version with Soulja Boy. These have also been put into 4 albums. Moonshine, Savage Island, Mayhem & Miracles and Savage presents… The Tribal Council.

Savage is an awesome New Zealand rapper and we hope to see more of him in the future.

My letter to the Hastings City council on Countdown.

Dear Members of the Hastings City Council.

Let me introduce myself. I am Adam Neilson.  A student at Parkvale School. I have been informed that a Countdown Supermarket would be built on Pakis Paddock near Parkvale School.

I strongly disagree with this plan. Here are my reasons why. All evidence provided is at the end.

  1. Noise Distractions

The nearest classes near Pakis Paddock are Room 10, 11 and 12. When the supermarket is under construction, a huge racket will be caused and will make the classes distracted So they won’t be able to do any work while listening to the racket caused.

     2.  Children Ran Over By Cars

If a ball is kicked over to the Countdown Supermarket, A child can run over there and get ran over by a car. They can also get lost in the carpark and might not be able to get back to school grounds. The same can happen to the teachers.

Those are my reasons on why a Countdown Supermarket should not be build on Paki’s Paddock near Parkvale School. Thank your for taking your time to read this letter.

Yours sincerely,
Adam Neilson. A student from Parkvale School.

Parkvale School Report. By Adam Neilson

What school is that on the horizon?

If you’re walking down Howard Street, you may come across a school called Parkvale. Parkvale School is a very beautiful school with a great environment for kids between 5 and 11.

Ways Of Learning:

At Parkvale, we have two ways of learning, Original (Pen/Pencil and Paper) and Digital (Devices). In the first part of the school (Rm 1-16+17) is the original type of learning style. And in the 2nd part of the school, (Rm 10-21b) is the digital side of Parkvale. Both of these learning types are very similar, except that the seniors are allowed to bring their own devices.

Students:

The students here at Parkvale School are amazing. They are creative, joyful and very happy! The school is split up into 7 year groups. Year 0-6. Students are also split into ages. 5-11. All classes are split into hubs. Also, a new MLE (Modern Learning Environment) hub has been formed with 3 classes in it.

Opportunities:

Students here at Parkvale have many opportunities to do and experience. The list is endless! You got sports like, Rugby, Barefoot 10/7’s, Netball, Miniball, Hockey, Cricket and much more! Some classes sometimes go on trips! These trips include, Camp Omatua and Kaitawa, EnviroSchools and the Rubbish Center. Parkvale School is a great place for your child to come too.

Fun Run Reflection And Goals

BREAKING NEWS!

One of the biggest events of this year is happening right now. The school Fun Run! Adam Neilson is on the scene with the details!

Thank you Mr G! I have just finished my race and let me tell you, it was hard. We had to run around Paki's Paddock and our school field 4 times doing 3 obstacles. The Spiral Of Learning, Rugby Protection Jump and the Hurdles 4 times. There were more obstacles, but since I did competitive, We only had to do those three. The wait was so long! I can't believe how long that wait was! When it was almost our race. We had to wait until the final lap of the Year 4 race until we got on! The race started off with a bang! I had my Spongebob shirt on with me to it could keep my company. Mrs Issacson was waiting for me at the far end of Paki's Paddock with another teacher. After we got around Paki's paddock, we had the Spiral Of Learning. When the demonstration was shown, I was confused on who was first! When that was completed, we had to jump over the protective pads for the Rugby post's. And finally, I saw Janine near the hurdles supporting me on to keep going. We did this for 3 laps until I heard the final lap bell. Everybody was cheering me on for Takahe, to Pukeko! I went around the course and I came to the final sprint! I was just infront of George and then I cross the finish like where I see Mrs Miller. She congratulates me and I go back to my house to see all my friends congratulate me and I sit down to watch the Year 6's duke it out to go to the Inter-schools.
